How to play Pyramid Solitaire

How to play Pyramid Solitaire

In Pyramid solitaire, you can ignore the suit of the cards. You need to match pairs of cards, the sum of which is 13. 28 cards are laid out in the pyramid, the rest are at the bottom, they are turned upside down. The cards from the reserve deck are taken when the options in the pyramid are exhausted.

Rules of the game

In this solitaire, the king is 13 points, the queen is 12, the jack is 11, the value of an ace is 1 point, the rest of the cards correspond to their face value. Discard the face up cards from the pyramid and the deck in pairs (9 + 4; queen + ace; jack + 2, etc.). Kings can be removed alone, because they are equal to 13. Only uncovered, that is, unblocked by others, cards participate in the game. You can open cards from the deck one at a time and look for a pair of them in the pyramid. You will win the game when you have moved all the cards from the pyramid and deck.

Game tips

  • At the beginning of the game, remove all exposed kings so you can free up a few cards.
  • If there are several options for making a pair, choose the one that will open the card for the next combination.
  • First of all, remove the cards from the pyramid, use the deck as a last resort - you can go through the spare cards not endlessly.
  • Try to evenly disassemble the pyramid, do not leave blocked groups - there may not be a pair for the blocking card in the deck.
  • The sum of points 13 is made up of the following combinations of cards: king; queen + ace; jack + 2; 3 + 10; 4 + 9; 5 + 8; 6 + 7.

If the solitaire does not fit right the first time, do not be discouraged - the "Pyramid" develops in about half of the cases.
